Standing up to 13 feet tall at the shoulder and weighing over 6 tons, they grazed on grasses, shrubs, and other vegetation. Fossilized teeth of woolly mammoths, often found in archaeological sites, reveal their unique dietary adaptations, featuring flat surfaces perfect for grinding tough plant materials, providing insights into their feeding habits and the ecosystems they inhabited. This tooth specifically was found on the shores of the Kvichak Bay, in Alaska.
